Wozu kritische Sexualwissenschaft? Vortrag: Sophinette Becker Anfang des Jahres wurde mit der Schließung der Frankfurter Sexualambulanz eine der letzten Errungenschaften des Instituts für Sexualwissenschaft abgeschafft. Das für das Frankfurter Institut spezifische Interesse an Wechselwirkungen zwischen Gesellschaft und Sexualität scheint sowohl dem Fachbereich Medizin, dem Uni-Klinikum, als auch der Universität unheimlich gewesen zu sein, bzw. scheint letztlich der Kampf um Ressourcen so geführt zu werden, dass der kritische und soziologische Blick aus der Medizin explizit ausgeschlossen wird. Sophinette Becker, die ehemalige Leiterin der Sexualambulanz wird die Grundzüge dieser gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung vorstellen. Warum das Sexuelle ohne ein Verständnis von Gesellschaft nicht möglich ist und wie sich in Abgrenzung zu den vergangenen Dekaden der gegenwärtige Stand des Sexuellen in seinen Tendenzen beschreiben lässt.

Doors: 21:30 Uhr. thisquietarmythisquietarmy is the experimental guitar-based project of Eric Quach from Montreal, Quebec, Canada – active since 2005. Revolving around improvised drone music, he takes his sonic experimentations further by adding textural and structural elements of post-punk, shoegaze, krautrock, post-rock, black metal and doom metal to them. The results can be described as dark, melodic, expansive and engaging dreamscapes. His live performances are mostly presented as a real-time score to hypnotic ethereal visuals, which he creates himself for each performance. thisquietarmy has also collaborated extensively with Aidan Baker (Nadja), Monarch!, Scott Cortez (Lovesliescrushing) and Yellow6, and has several side-projects (Destroyalldreamers, Mains de Givre, Parallel Lines and Ghidrah). He sometimes perform under the moniker hi my quiet tsar for his synth-drone/noise project. With already such a large body of work released and over 200 performances all over Canada, USA & Europe, thisquietarmy is a forward contender as a pioneer of the experimental music scene emerging from Canada. AUNAUN are a Montreal-based band that melt the boundaries between psychedelic, electronic, ambient, industrial and doomgaze music. AUN have performed at the Mutek, WGT, FIMAV, Swingfest festivals, and are now set to appear at the 2012 Roadburn. They have released numerous praised albums with such labels as Alien8 Recordings, Important, Cyclic Law and now with Denovali.
Polite SleeperPolite Sleeper is a folk mess from New York City. Nothing else sounds quite like it. The trio with a long punk history earned its chameleon reputation as both a wild live act and three gentlemen troubadours over countless tours and three lovely LPs. They make no apologies. A Chicago native, Victor’s high school band has influenced a shit-ton of bands, and channeled fist-pumping energy into just about every angsty emo/punk kid for the last decade. As precise as they are playful, they unfurl their patterns gracefully, one puzzle piece at a time, capturing you in the most clever way, then letting you go just to repeat the ensnarement ad infinitum. mOck are releasing their debut full length album. mixed by John McEntire (Tortoise), in February 2012, offering the style of oblique smart rock which they know best. Vortrag + Konzert VORTRAG Andrea Kügler ist selbst in der Hardcore-Szene aktiv. Sie hat in verschiedenen Hardcore/Punk Bands gespielt und veranstaltet regelmäßig Konzerte. Somit ist das Thema nicht nur eine wissenschaftliche Angelegenheit, sondern eine Reaktion auf eigene Erfahrungen und ein Versuch, mit Themen wie Heteronormativität und Whiteness in der Szene BANDS WICHTIGE HINWEISE

ACTION BEAT beschreiben sich als “Improv-Noise/No-Wave-Band” und hauen nebenbei in die selbe Kerbe wie die fruehen SONIC YOUTH (ohne Gesang), Glenn Branca und Rhys Chatham..aber dies ist eigentlich nur schmueckendes Beiwerk. Wenn ACTION BEAT erstmal loslegen, sind sie nicht mehr zu bremsen, rollen unter betraechtlicher Geraeuschentwicklung und mit einem fast infantilen Spass alles über den Haufen, was meint, sich ihnen ohne Ohrenstoepsel in den Weg stellen zu muessen.
